Our Classico Berardenga
This is what Elena told us about Fattoria di Corsignano, Castelnuovo Berardenga’s territory and the Classico Berardenga association, whose she is President.
Enjoy the reading!
Since 1988, Fattoria di Corsignano has been a winery and a charming Agriturismo in the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero area, located in the southern part of this denomination, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, a few km from the city of Siena. Fattoria di Corsignano is an organic, eco-friendly and carbon-free property, engaged for years in sustainable viticulture and certified organic since 2014. Our company philosophy starts from being an artisan and family winery with a high quality annual production of 40,000 bottles, an extension of 22 hectares and a goal that involves all our production and style: to produce Chianti Classico respecting the tradition, the soil, the typicality and uniqueness of Sangiovese grapes, focusing on quality in all the phases of our daily work. We strongly believe in Sangiovese and its expressions, preferably in purity, preservation and enhancement of the Chianti Classico area. With this in mind, we have led the winery from conversion to certified organic cultivation and at the same time focusing our commitment on the territory of Castelnuovo Berardenga which represents a great gift and responsibility for us. That’s why we also have the hospitality, which is closely linked to the wine tourism and the Restaurant whose goal is to offer a unique experience and a full immersion in the Tuscan tradition.
When I started the experience as President of Classico Berardenga, I said to myself that I would feel successful as long as what I was doing would have given me joy and not weight. I wanted to create conviviality first, and ties with the land and among the producers. The Chianti Classico wine of this area is considered the “most Sienese”, due to its proximity to Siena and the influence it receives from its history, origins and traditions.
“Inviting wines, full and soft on the palate, they reflect the feeling of openness, light and space that is felt in this area. Impossible to stop at the first sip.”
These are the beautiful words that Monica Larner said on October 27, 2017 at the Terra Vocata event. Words that I enjoy each time I taste the wines of Castelnuovo.
Finally: “My neighbor, the wine producer, is not my competitor, but my ally!”. One day I read this sentence in a blog, I liked it a lot and I would like us company owners to recognize ourselves stronger and stronger in this alliance.
